SO PLEASE, STOP WITH THIS BULLSHIT ABOUT WHO SAID OR NOT SAID NO.

But guys, lets be perfectly honest and call things their names: Rumple and Regina hold ultimate, immeasurable, ineradicable privilege over every other character on the show therefore are ENTITLED to other people’s unwavering, slavish, unquestionable loyalty and love. The second they are denied it or have a chunk of their privileges eliminated by the victims of their ruthless sadism and oppression they suddenly become immune to responsibility for whatever atrocities they might end up committing because they were “provoked and prompted”.

Accomplishment and contentment are for empowered, oppressive, self awareness lacking, possessive, controlling individuals, not for rehabilitated former bandits with massive flaws who - repeatedly - fell victims to tyranny and abuse on part of power holders and reacted inappropriately/violently to it. Only to consciously reconsider their troubling, damaging and misguided methods of attaining personal egotistic goals, reevaluate their controversial priorities, examine their self destructive and unsettling behaviors and make active, earnest, consistent efforts to rebuild their lives. On behalf of reaching inner balance, achieving internal harmony and establishing equal, effective, constructive platonic and romantic bonds with people based on endorsement of each other’s needs and unconditional/unwavering support of those people. Which is what the Charming family has experienced an abundance of on Hook’s part.

You do it not because your malicious schemes were interfered with (say, when you attempted on your eleven year old grandson’s life to MAYBE preserve your three centuries long empowerment but was luckily stopped in time. Confronted with the news of your own son’s - then falsely presumed - death, after being more than inclined to subject said son to the most traumatic fate possible, namely that of a parent who’s outlived a child. Or when you intended to mercilessly murder every family member and friend of your adoptive son who came to faithfully, fiercely and enormously love and get attached to those people because you cannot handle him being drawn to someone other than your possessive self. But eventually decide against manslaughter because you were driven into the corner and literally faced a dead end, realizing you cannot get away with your twisted plans instead of acknowledging them as horrific and uncalled for & striving to fix the damage because you can’t bear inflicting such immense suffering on others. Because when you can you do it gladly and with ease, while your so-called “loved ones” aren’t watching and cannot call you out/confront you on your gruesome misdeeds. Therefore your image is not at risk of being destroyed in their eyes and most importantly your schemes are safe from a sabotage). Or because you faced the inevitable consequences of your repulsive actions (see all the above). Or because your harmful intents unavoidably backfired on you or people you have unhealthily dehumanized/objectified and reduced to your moral compass/placed responsibility for your disgraceful and abusive actions on (i.e Belle, Henry in Rumple and Regina’s case respectively). But because you’ve realized and acknowledged your dishonorable choices, problematic attitude and misguided approach towards life as needing of critically analyzing and moving on from.

Hook is a redeemed criminal who helped reuniting - on multiple occasions - and saving a family that, much like himself, was a victim of oppression and abuse. Has been ACTIVELY and repeatedly encouraged to be a part of this family by both his female love interest and her son & father. Literally fulfilled this family’s sacred dreams Regina & Rumple carelessly ripped away from them by helping Emma embrace the essence & core of who she is, taking her to the first ball, bringing her home (everything Snow and David ever wanted for their little princess). Assisted in bringing this family together numerous times. As opposed to remorselessly and viciously tearing it apart for two decades and half in order to terrorize, institutionally persecute, brainwash and mentally abuse every member of it while massacring, enslaving, imprisoning or raping this family’s friends and defenders.

Rumple and Regina inflicted nothing but incessant, excruciating torment and/or authoritative tyranny on the Charming family because they needed to maintain their empowerment or benefit from their misery in order to fix the problems said empowerment entailed for THEM. Hook started out as a random rival/criminal, psychologically unstable and vindictive (for legitimate reasons, despite admittedly unacceptable methods he resorted to when pursuing his goals). Who legitimately  reconsidered his destructive and toxic decisions (independently and when he firmly believed his vindictive agenda against a sadistic psychopath who maimed him & murdered his loved one in cold blood as well as condemned him to 300 years of mental anguish was successfully fulfilled. Yet Hook wasn’t Rumple or Regina and couldn’t keep on with his unsettling tendencies & subject a vast number of people to pointless deaths when targeting a one specific person. Who actually had wronged him in the most horrific way imaginable, as opposed to being a random 10 year old he chose to irrationally blame his tragedies/adversities on). And ever since that point proceeded to do MORE for the Charmings than their closest friends have and has NEVER been rejected by them. Save for that one moment of unfortunate misunderstanding after which he kept a distance and offered nothing but his help by placing his life on the line for them yet again.

Point is - Hook was NEVER rejected to begin with, Regina & Rumple were, yet it’s impossible to reject oppressors who hold a privilege hence why they still share dinner tables with their former victims (because who knows when they slip back into mass murdering & oppressive mode again and go on a rampage. Better pat them on the head occasionally to prevent it from happening). Even Neal was rejected at one point - literally, ditched by Emma who didn’t even bother coming up with a proper excuse to leave him sit at the empty table with a lone cup of coffee, agonizing at whether she shows up at the date or not (a date Neal imposed on her while Emma persistently tried to decline it).

Hook didn’t confront Emma and Neal in the Echo Cave when misinterpreting their reunion and falsely perceiving it as Emma ultimately choosing in favor of Neal. Go figure, he didn’t kill the former in cold blood because he can’t handle being denied a romantic love nor proceeded, to say, cut off Neal’s leg. It was NOT Hook depriving a person of agency and exploiting them on emotional, physical and sexual level for 28 years because he could never engage a self sufficient and morally independent individual without taking advantage of them. Rumple and Regina need those gross tactics to validate and solidify their power over people, Hook does NOT. He has enough determination, patience and devotion to be there for people he loves and respect their choices and wishes even if they don’t align with his yearnings and immediate wants.
